Montana’s current lack of an athletic commission could see fighters who take matches in the state waiting out 6 months in limbo.
According to pro fighter and Billing based Patricia Vidonic, other state commissions will put a fighter in 6 month medical suspension if they have fought in Montana. Since Montana doesn’t do blood work, states like Oregon and North Dakota will not allow fighters to fight for that amount of time. Other states will soon follow suit as the Association of Boxing Commissions plan to institute the plan nationwide.
Vidonic is currently campaigning to get Montana an athletic commission.
